Drawing ellipses and circles with Photoshop Ellipse Tool
The Ellipse Tool is a shape tool used to draw elliptical shapes. The original tutorial also demonstrates constraining the ellipse to create a circle.
Select the Ellipse Tool
Choose the Ellipse Tool from the shape tools.
Draw an ellipse
Position the pointer inside the work area, then click and drag to draw an ellipse at the required size.
Draw a circle
In the workflow shown in this tutorial, hold Shift while dragging to constrain the ellipse to a circle.
