Delete Anchor Point Tool for editing a Photoshop path
The Delete Anchor Point Tool removes unnecessary anchor points from an existing path. This is useful when a path contains an extra point that makes the outline harder to adjust cleanly.
Select the Delete Anchor Point Tool
Choose the Delete Anchor Point Tool from the Pen Tool group.
Remove an unnecessary anchor point
Position the pointer on the extra anchor point and click to remove it. The remaining path can then be reshaped to follow the required outline.
Start with the image to be selected
The original example begins with an image that will be outlined using a Pen Tool path.
Simplify and adjust the path
After drawing the path, remove an unnecessary anchor point where the outline needs correction, then adjust the remaining path.
Use the edited path for the selection
Once the path follows the object correctly, convert it into a selection for the next editing step.
