Using predefined shapes with Photoshop Custom Shape Tool
The Custom Shape Tool lets you choose from predefined shapes available in Photoshop and draw the selected shape at the required size. The original tutorial shows where the shape presets appear and how the chosen shape is placed in the work area.
Select the Custom Shape Tool
Choose the Custom Shape Tool from the shape tools.
Choose a predefined shape
After selecting the tool, choose one of the predefined shapes from the options palette shown in the tutorial.
Draw the selected shape
Select the required preset, position the pointer in the work area, then click and drag to draw it.
Constrain the shape proportions
In the workflow shown in this tutorial, hold Shift while dragging when you want to keep the selected shape at constrained proportions.
