Add Anchor Point Tool for refining a Photoshop path
The Add Anchor Point Tool edits an existing path by inserting an additional point where more control is needed. The added point can then be adjusted to refine the path before making a selection.
Select the Add Anchor Point Tool
Choose the Add Anchor Point Tool from the Pen Tool group.
Add a point to the existing path
Position the pointer on the path where extra control is needed and click to add an anchor point. The path can then be reshaped around that new point.
Identify an area needing adjustment
In the example, a path has already been drawn around an image but needs further adjustment for a closer fit.
Adjust the new point and make the selection
Add the anchor point, refine the path, then right-click the completed path and use Make Selection when it follows the required outline.
