Convert Point Tool for reshaping a Photoshop path
The Convert Point Tool edits an existing path without adding or deleting anchor points. It is useful when the path already has the required points but the shape or direction of a segment needs adjustment.
Select the Convert Point Tool
Choose the Convert Point Tool from the Pen Tool group.
Edit the existing path
After drawing a path with the Pen Tool, use the Convert Point Tool on the part that needs correction. This lets the existing anchor point or path segment be reshaped without inserting another point.
Begin with the path around the image
The original example first draws a Pen Tool path around an image that will be selected.
Adjust the path shape
Where the original path needs more accurate shaping, use the Convert Point Tool to adjust that portion of the outline.
Use the corrected path
After the path has been refined, convert the corrected outline into a selection for editing.
