The paging interface can send the selected record ID asynchronously, but the PHP endpoint must validate the ID and perform the delete with a prepared statement. After a successful response, reload the current page of records instead of trusting client-side state.
const response = await fetch('delete-record.php', {
method: 'POST',
headers: {'Content-Type': 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'},
body: new URLSearchParams({id})
});
if (response.ok) {
loadPage(currentPage);
}
DELETE statement, return a clear status, and enforce any authorization rules required by the application.The earlier AJAX pagination tutorial breaks the student records into pages without a full page reload. This extension adds a delete control for an individual record while keeping the same paging flow.
Each student record has a unique ID. The interface sends that ID to the PHP endpoint when the visitor chooses delete. The server performs the database operation and returns a status message, after which the current record list can be refreshed.
Read the basic AJAX pagination tutorial first if you need the paging request/response flow before adding record deletion.
