MySQL ASIN() function

ASIN(X) returns the arc sine of X in radians. Its valid input range is -1 through 1.

SELECT ASIN(0); -- Output: 0
SELECT ASIN(1); -- Output: 1.5707963267948966
SELECT ASIN(-2); -- Output: NULL

ASIN() with DEGREES()

Use DEGREES() to convert the radian result to degrees.

SELECT DEGREES(ASIN(1)); -- Output: 90
SELECT DEGREES(ASIN(0)); -- Output: 0
SELECT DEGREES(ASIN(-1)); -- Output: -90

Syntax

SELECT ASIN(X);

The output is the angle whose sine is X. Inputs outside -1 to 1 return NULL.
