SQL Query Generator Between Months & Years

Select a starting month, an ending month, or both. The generator uses the first day of a month as a boundary and an exclusive first day of the following month for the upper boundary.

Why use an exclusive next-month boundary?

SELECT *
FROM table_name
WHERE DATE_FIELD >= '2026-01-01'
  AND DATE_FIELD < '2026-04-01';

This example covers January through March, including every DATE or DATETIME value in March without applying a function to the indexed column.
